Well, what a strange few weeks it’s been… While the world takes stock of the surreal times we find ourselves in, we want to reassure you that we’re here and doing all that we can to support our amazing community.

We understand that it’s a worrying time for everyone – and that many of us aren’t able to physically be together at the moment. Please do remember though that home is much more than a plate at a table or a bottom on a chair. It’s a daily check-in text or a comforting phone call. It’s sharing a photo of something that made you smile. It’s getting together on a video call and cooking or dancing or just sharing moments of your day.

And community is so much more than physically being in the same room. It’s keeping others in your thoughts and heart, and offering as much practical and emotional support to each other as we can. It’s that feeling of being cared for and lifted up, near or far. That feeling of belonging, of being part of a group of people who understand how you’re feeling right now. 

Rest assured that our Slimming World community will stand together, as strong as ever. While our venues have had to temporarily close their doors, it’s the people that make a really great group – and our amazing Consultants will be gathering their groups using online video-calling and chat tools, so members can continue to get that personal support (from their Consultant and each other!). We’re sure that these virtual groups will quickly become lively hives of recipe-swapping, idea-sharing and problem-solving activity, as our fantastic members come together in a new kind of way.

If you’re a Slimming World group member, your Consultant will be able to tell you all you need to know about ‘My Slimming World virtual group’ and the extra support that’s being put in place.

Of course, members of the ‘My Slimming World virtual group’ service and members of our digital service, Slimming World Online, will have access to their usual website and app tools, such as our fantastic Food Search and vast recipe collection (especially handy if you’re having to be creative in the kitchen!) – as well as a huge bank of features bringing lots of motivation, inspiration and support straight to your phone, tablet or computer, whenever you need it. Right now, our writing team is working away to bring you even more great content – with plenty of ideas for things like batch cooking, making your meals go further, cooking with fewer ingredients, clever ingredient swaps and ideas for keeping active, calm and motivated during this tricky time.

You’ll also find plenty of content to help pull you through the weeks to come, right here on the blog. Myself and Matt will be here to keep you company – with some great guest blog posts coming up, too. We’ll have ideas for cooking up a storm in the kitchen, as well as some really good reads to help pass the time (including some inventive ways to keep the kids entertained)! If you’re signed up to our newsletter list, we’ll be bringing you a weekly rundown of what’s on the blog – and you’ll get lots of recipes straight to your inbox, too (you can sign up at the bottom of this post).

Above all, we want you to know that you’re not alone in this. The entire Slimming World team is beavering away from home, doing all that we can to help you stay on your slimming journey, even while normal everyday life is disrupted. Fingers crossed that things can quickly and safely return to normal, but in the meantime, we will help carry you through!
