Chicken gyros bowl"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We&#8217;re bringing the holiday vibes to you this summer with the gorgeous flavours of the Mediterranean. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve filled our gyros bowl with juicy marinated chicken, fresh Greek salad, lemony potatoes and roasted veg &#8211; with added halloumi, couscous and houmous thrown in for good measure! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feel free to mix and match ingredients to build a bowl that ticks your boxes &#8211; you could even load your ingredients into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/blog\/slimming-world-wraps\/\">Slimming World wrap<\/a> if you prefer.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/nearest-group-search\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"115\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Group-Feel-Real-Good-Food-Small-CTA.jpg\" alt=\"Feel Real Good - Group small CTA\" class=\"wp-image-11365\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slimming World gyros bowl video<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/5245389806001\/default_default\/index.html?videoId=6397905405112\" allowfullscreen=\"\" allow=\"encrypted-media\" width=\"900\" height=\"390\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/offers\">Discover our latest special offers<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Slimming World gyros bowl recipe<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Body-GyrosBowls_SlimmingWorldBlog.jpg\" alt=\"Gryos bowls\" class=\"wp-image-16694\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>serves 2<br>9\u00bd&nbsp;Swips&nbsp;per serving (deduct&nbsp;9\u00bd&nbsp;Swips&nbsp;if using&nbsp;the&nbsp;feta and halloumi&nbsp;together&nbsp;as a&nbsp;full&nbsp;Healthy Extra calcium choice,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;olives as half a Healthy Extra&nbsp;healthy fats&nbsp;choice)&nbsp;<br>ready in&nbsp;55 minutes,&nbsp;plus 4 hours marinating&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What you need:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the chicken gyros:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4 large skinless, boneless chicken thighs, visible fat removed<br>100g fat-free natural Greek yogurt<br>\u00bd tsp lemon juice<br>1 tbsp red wine vinegar<br>2 garlic cloves, crushed<br>1 tsp ground cumin<br>\u00bd tsp dried oregano<br>1 tsp sweet paprika<br>\u00bc tsp ground cinnamon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the Greek salad:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bd cucumber, diced<br>11-13 baby plum tomatoes, halved<br>1 red onion, diced<br>65g reduced-fat feta, crumbled<br>100g pitted black olives in brine<br>dried oregano, to taste<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the potatoes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>250g baby potatoes, halved<br>juice of \u00bd lemon<br>1 tsp dried oregano<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the roasted veg:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 peppers (1 red and 1 yellow), deseeded and sliced<br>1 red onion, quartered<br>1 cal cooking spray*<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To serve:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>45g reduced-fat halloumi<br>90g dried couscous (optional)<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/recipes\/speedy-houmous\">Slimming World houmous (optional)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What you do:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Start by marinating the chicken. Place the chicken thighs in a bowl with the yogurt, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, garlic, cumin, oregano, paprika, cinnamon, \u00bd tsp salt and a generous grind of black pepper. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly, then cover and chill for up to 4 hours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Preheat&nbsp;your&nbsp;oven to 220\u00b0C\/200\u00b0C fan\/gas&nbsp;mark 7.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Prepare the Greek salad by combining the cucumber, tomatoes,&nbsp;red onion,&nbsp;feta&nbsp;and olives in a bowl. Sprinkle with a little dried oregano, season to taste and set aside.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Place the halved baby potatoes in a bowl. Add the lemon juice and oregano, then toss to coat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Arrange the marinated chicken, peppers and red onion on a baking tray&nbsp;and spritz with 1&nbsp;cal&nbsp;cooking spray. Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.&nbsp;Once cooked, cut the chicken into slices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Meanwhile, spray the air-fryer basket with&nbsp;1&nbsp;cal&nbsp;cooking spray. Cook the potatoes at 200\u00b0C for around 20 minutes, shaking&nbsp;the basket&nbsp;halfway through, until golden and cooked through.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. At the same time, pan-fry the halloumi for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown, and, if&nbsp;using,&nbsp;cook the couscous according to the pack instructions. Once cooked, fluff with a fork and set aside.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.
