Look out for emails from us packed full of recipe inspiration.<\/p><p class=\"message-error message-error-default\">Something went wrong.<\/p>                <\/div>\n\t\t    <\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/section>\t\n    <\/section>\n\n\n\n<p>We asked our head of nutrition, research and health, Carolyn Pallister, to share her expert pointers to help you ace seven days of healthy habits \u2013 that hopefully you\u2019ll want to keep up!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Get at least five a day<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether they\u2019re fresh, frozen or canned, enjoying a wider variety of fruit and vegetables is a great way to brighten up your meals \u2013 and provide your body with a range of different nutrients. Many fruits and vegetables are high in fibre (especially if you eat the skin, too), and a fibre-rich diet is associated with a lower risk of developing conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer. Plus, they\u2019re typically low in calories and help to fill us up \u2013 which is why most fruit and vegetables are Free Foods on the Slimming World Food Optimising plan, meaning you can enjoy them freely with no weighing, measuring or counting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/recipes\/firecracker-chicken-stir-fry\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/blog-firecracker-chicken-stir-fry.jpg\" alt=\"firecracker chicken-healthy eating week-slimming world blog\" class=\"wp-image-2190\" style=\"object-fit:cover;width:500px;height:500px\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Healthy hint: <\/strong>Serving up a stir-fry is great for packing plenty of veg into your meals \u2013 and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/recipes\/firecracker-chicken-stir-fry\">firecracker chicken<\/a> is brimming with colourful produce.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Stay hydrated<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Drinking plenty of water can help our concentration and support healthy digestion, and is great for our skin. It can also prevent hunger pangs (which are actually often a sign that we\u2019re dehydrated). A useful tip is to drink <em>before <\/em>you feel thirsty to avoid the sluggishness and headaches that dehydration can cause, and to try to have at least six to eight drinks a day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s a few more ideas to help you stay topped up:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Keep a reusable water bottle close to hand to sip throughout the day.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drink with your meals.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any fluid (other than alcohol, I\u2019m afraid!) counts towards your six to eight glasses per day \u2013 mix it up to keep it interesting, with fruit teas, cold-water infuser bags or sugar-free squashes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have plenty to drink before, during and after physical activity, and drink more on warmer days.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Healthy hint:<\/strong> Infusing water with your favourite fruits is a clever way to jazz up your H2O, and Slimming World members will find lots of inventive ideas in their local group and on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/nearest-group-search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">member website<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/offers\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"145\" src=\"https:\/\/www.slimmingworld.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/SmallCTAr-StreetFoodCookbookOffer25_SlimmingWorldBlog.jpg\" alt=\"NEW! Wholegrains also provide essential vitamins and minerals, including B vitamins, to support our overall health, so it\u2019s important to enjoy plenty of them as part of a balanced diet.
