If you need a break from the heat, an ice-cold treat is hard to beat, and we\u2019ve got a brilliant alternative to ice cream. Our mango sorbet is packed with fruit and zingy flavours to help you stay cool without leaving your weight loss plans in the shade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve never made sorbet before, you might be surprised at how easy it is. This six-step recipe can be whipped up in just 15 minutes and you can save even more time by using pre-prepared mango and pineapple slices. Let\u2019s get the scoop on this frozen treat&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MORE FOR MEMBERS: Slimming World members can find a serving of <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/member.slimmingworld.co.uk\/features\/ice-cream-extravaganza\"><strong>Free and low Syn frozen treat ideas<\/strong><\/a><strong> on the exclusive members\u2019 website and app<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mango sorbet with pineapple<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>serves 2<br>3 Syns per serving<br>ready in 15 minutes, plus eight hours freezing<br>vegetarian<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you need:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 large ripe mangoes (or use 300g prepared fresh mango)<br>2 large bananas<br>350g fat-free natural yogurt<br>2 level tsp sweetener granules<br>1 tsp vanilla extract<br>1 medium pineapple (or use 400g prepared fresh pineapple)<br>fresh mint sprigs, to decorate<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you do:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Cut the cheeks off the sides of the mangoes, then slice the remaining flesh and skin off the stone. Peel and dice all the mango flesh and put it in your food processor. Add the bananas, yogurt, sweetener and vanilla extract and whizz until smooth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Transfer the mixture to a freezer-proof container and freeze for 1 hour or until frozen around the edges but slushy in the middle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Using a fork, break up the ice crystals around the edge and stir into the slushy centre. Freeze for another 2-3 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Tip the sorbet into your food processor and whizz very briefly until smooth, then return to the container, cover and freeze for 3-4 hours or until firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Top and tail the pineapple, then cut away the skin around the outside. Cut the pineapple in half, then into quarters. Cut away the hard core and slice the flesh, then put it in a bowl and chill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Move the sorbet into the fridge 10 minutes before you want to eat, so that it can soften a little.
