Packed with chunks of chicken and ham and plenty of veg, all smothered in a tasty tarragon gravy and topped with puff pastry hearts, there\u2019s a lot to love about our pies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Personal pies are ideal for sharing with friends (especially when our four-step recipe makes them so easy to put together) \u2013 and at just 4\u00bd Syns per serving, you can enjoy a piece of pastry-topped perfection and still keep your weight loss on track. What\u2019s not to love?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"108\" src=\"http:\/\/slimmingworld.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/SOLThinBanner-SummerOfLove-SlimmingWorldBlog.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3386\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Heart-shape chicken and mushroom pies<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>serves 4\u00a0<br>ready in 1 hour 5 minutes<br>4\u00bd Syns per serving<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you need:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>500ml hot chicken stock\u00a0<br>4 skinless and boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size chunks\u00a0<br>2 onions, roughly chopped\u00a0<br>1 garlic clove, finely chopped\u00a0<br>2 carrots, diced\u00a0<br>200g green beans, trimmed and roughly chopped\u00a0<br>200g button mushrooms, halved or quartered if large\u00a0<br>1 level tsp chicken gravy granules\u00a0<br>2 tbsp tomato pur\u00e9e\u00a0<br>2 x 200g cans cooked lean ham, diced\u00a0<br>2 tbsp finely chopped fresh tarragon\u00a0<br>1 egg, lightly beaten\u00a0<br>100g ready-rolled light puff pastry<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you do:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Put the stock, chicken, onions, garlic, carrots, beans and mushrooms in a non-stick saucepan over a high heat, bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring often, until the onions have softened and the chicken is cooked.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Add the gravy granules and tomato pur\u00e9e and stir well. Add the ham and tarragon, season to taste and stir again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Preheat your oven to 180\u00b0C\/fan 160\u00b0C\/gas 4. Pour the chicken mixture into 4 individual pie dishes and brush the rims with some of the beaten egg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Divide the pastry into 4 portions and shape each portion using a heart-shape cutter. Place the hearts on top of the pies, brush with the remaining egg and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed up and golden.
