Either way, we think this spice-fest is simply balti-ful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kheer rice pudding recipe&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/slimmingworld.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/KheerRice-KheerRice-SlimmingWorldBlog.jpg\" alt=\"Kheer Rice Puddings\" class=\"wp-image-7706\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Our take on this traditional Indian dessert is thick, creamy and fragrant, and it\u2019s the perfect way to end a special meal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>serves 4&nbsp;<br>4 Syns per serving&nbsp;<br>ready in 50 mins plus 15 mins cooling&nbsp;<br>vegetarian&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you need:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3-4 cardamom pods &nbsp;<br>450ml skimmed milk &nbsp;<br>2 level tsp sweetener granules&nbsp;<br>200ml reduced-fat coconut milk &nbsp;<br>\u00bc tsp ground cinnamon &nbsp;<br>pinch of ground cloves &nbsp;<br>100g dried pudding rice &nbsp;<br>200g ready-chopped fresh mango, diced&nbsp;<br>2 tbsp pomegranate seeds&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What you do:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Split open the cardamom pods by pressing down firmly on each pod with the flat side of a knife. Remove the seeds and grind them to a powder using a pestle and mortar (or the end of a rolling pin and a bowl). You\u2019ll want a little more than&nbsp;\u00bc&nbsp;tsp \u2013 use a few extra cardamom pods if you find you need more. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Put&nbsp;\u00bc&nbsp;tsp ground cardamom in a non-stick saucepan along with the milk, sweetener, coconut milk, cinnamon, cloves and rice and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 35-40 minutes, stirring frequently. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. When the rice is tender, remove from the heat. Cover and set aside for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Divide the pudding between 4 dessert bowls and scatter over the mango and pomegranate seeds.
