Slimming World Magazine appoints new Food Editor

The UK’s best-selling slimming title Slimming World Magazine has recruited top London Food Editor Rebecca Woollard, as the award-winning magazine looks to further develop its impressive food pages.

Rebecca, who started her career with a professional diploma at Leiths School of Food and Wine, has worked for a host of prestigious food and lifestyle titles, including Good Food Magazine, Woman & Home and Delicious.

Produced in-house at the headquarters of the UK’s leading weight-loss organisation Slimming World, the magazine has experienced great success in recent years and is currently the UK’s third most-actively purchased magazine. Its food content includes recipes, eating plans, food news and desserts – all of which fit perfectly within Slimming World’s world-famous Food Optimising eating plan.

The March/April 2019 issue, which will mark the organisation’s 50th anniversary, will be Rebecca’s debut in the magazine. Speaking of her new role, she says: “When I first read Slimming World Magazine I was struck by how delicious all of the food looked – it’s not the type of food you’d usually expect to eat when trying to lose weight, and I think that’s fantastic! After meeting the rest of the team it’s clear to see that everyone is extremely passionate about the magazine, and that certainly comes across with the quality of their food pages.

“I can’t wait to get started. As a working mum I understand that Slimming World’s recipes have to be tasty, family friendly and fit into busy lifestyles – so I’m up for the challenge! I’m also a trained chef so I’ll be developing some new recipes as well as editing and I’m really looking forward to that aspect of the role. It feels wonderful to be part of a successful team at such an exciting time for Slimming World.”

Slimming World Magazine’s editor Sara Ward added: “Rebecca is a fantastic addition to our editorial team and I’m sure she will bring a fresh and exciting new perspective to our eating plans, food content and recipes. The magazine has achieved great things in the past few years, and with Slimming World’s 50th anniversary just around the corner, we can’t wait to showcase some fabulous new content. We’re thrilled to have Rebecca on board during this exciting time and can’t wait to see the ideas she has bubbling away already!”

Launched in 1997, Slimming World Magazine is published seven times a year. As well as food, it features the inspiring real-life success stories of Slimming World members – including our cover stars, as well as practical weight-loss strategies, health and fitness features and lightbulb moments of psychological self-discovery.

The magazine is sold at a discounted price in Slimming World’s weekly groups, providing an additional layer of support and inspiration to the organisation’s 900,000 group members. It is also sold on newsstands and a digital edition is available.
