Slimming World was founded in Alfreton, Derbyshire in 1969, and today we’re the UK’s leading weight management organisation, supporting around 900,000 people every week in over 16,000 groups across the UK and Ireland, and through our online programme. Our mission is simple – to help every member achieve their weight loss dreams, through our healthy, liberating and sustainable weight loss plan and through the exceptional service we provide – to our members, and to the Consultants who run our groups.
We’ve grown at a rate of around 20% a year for the past five years, and have recently extended our reach globally with the launch of a new online weight management programme in the USA. At our Head Office (still based in Alfreton), we have a team of over 350 people who specialise in a wide range of sectors to ensure the constant growth, support and care to our members and Consultants.
We have a large number of support teams for our Consultants and members, including customer services, IT, warehouse and logistics and HR specialists. We also have several communications departments, including our award –winning magazine team, dedicated PR, marketing and events specialists, content writers, graphic designers and videographers, a growing digital team, and a nutrition and research department.
