  • There is an added problem too. Men are far less likely than women to address the issue of being overweight and seek out help. Currently men are significantly under represented in weight loss programmes nationally, with less than 1 in 1,000 overweight men attending a slimming club.

The best way for men to lose weight

The great news is – compared to women, men are so easy to help! Men tend to lose weight faster than women, they're generally more focussed when they start a healthy eating plan, with less negative feelings than women about previous failed attempts. And they are extremely committed when they finally join a slimming programme.

Many report that it was a health scare that prompted the decision to slim. ‘The nurse measured my blood pressure and told me my children might not have a father in a few years time’.
