Chocolate orange French toast recipe

serves 4
8½ Syns per serving (deduct 5½ Syns if using wholemeal bread as a Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice)
ready in 15 mins
vegetarian
What you need:
4 level tbsp reduced-sugar marmalade
8 slices wholemeal bread from a small 400g loaf
4 eggs
100ml skimmed milk
2 level tsp sweetener granules
1 level tsp cocoa powder
zest of 1 unwaxed orange, plus wedges to serve
low-calorie cooking spray
4 tbsp fat-free natural yogurt
4 level tsp Sweet Freedom Choc Shot
What you do:
1. Spread the marmalade evenly over 4 slices of bread. Sandwich together with the remaining bread.
2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, sweetener, cocoa powder and orange zest until well combined. Add the bread to the mixture, turn to coat and leave to soak for 3-4 minutes.
3. Spray a large non-stick frying pan with low-calorie cooking spray and put it over a medium-high heat. Fry the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden (you might need to do this in batches).
4. Halve the sandwiches diagonally and divide between 4 plates. Add a dollop of the yogurt and 1 level tsp Choc Shot to each plate and serve with the orange wedges.
