Free Food is a Slimming World superhero – and its superpower is the ability to help us lose weight without ever feeling hungry. The masterstroke at the heart of Slimming World’s eating plan, Free Food means that we absolutely can love food, eat well and still hit our slimming goals.

Filling, flexible and all-round fantastic, nothing comes close to the feeling of freedom that Free Food gives you. We think this is something worth shouting about, so we’ve planned a fabulous Free Food Festival to show off Free Food in all its delicious glory.

What’s going on?

From today, you’ll see a Free Food takeover on the blog, with lots of Free Food recipes and inspiration. You’ll discover the favourite Free Food recipes of some of our gorgeous competition winners and see what our members are cooking up at home.

The fun doesn’t stop there!

If you’re not already a Slimming World member then February is an AMAZINGLY EXCITING time to join. Our groups will be holding lively cook-off competitions on either the week beginning 9 February or the week beginning 16 February – where members will bring in their Free Food dishes and the group will vote for their favourite. There’ll be a prize for the top cook, of course, but with so many great new Free Food recipe ideas, everyone’s a winner!

Online members can also get involved by sending us recipes and foodie photos – look out for a feature on the member website explaining all next week.

Tell me more about Free Food

The beauty of Free Food is that you can eat as much of it as you like, and new members are often flabbergasted to find out what’s on the menu. As well as the usual suspects of fruit and vegetables (yes, including baked beans and potatoes!), you’ll also notice that lean meat, meat replacements, poultry, eggs and fish are on the Free Food list – so that’s your cooked breakfasts and Sunday dinners sorted.

New members are also floored by the fact that pasta and rice are not only firmly on the menu but also completely Free – so you can pile that spaghetti as high as you like!

A Free Food celebration 

There’s so much Free Food that the recipe options are pretty much endless – from a simple jacket spud with Slimming World chilli or a Friday fakeaway curry to a full-on three-course meal – and we think that’s worth celebrating. So, come join the party on the blog, at your local group and at Slimming World Online, and set yourself free with a way to lose weight that really works!
