Slimming World Magazine was launched in 1998 by Slimming World founder Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE, who passed away in February 2025. She wanted to create a magazine that provided even further support and inspiration to people on their weight loss journey and reflected Slimming World’s warmth, empathy and understanding.

Nearly 27 years later, the magazine is still produced in Alfreton, the only one of the UK’s ten top-selling titles created outside London – and independently too!

Trailblazing from the get-go, the publication was one of the first to feature everyday people, rather than models or celebrities on its covers. Real-life Slimming World members continue to exclusively star on the cover and pages of every single issue. This innovative spirit and focus on real lives continues to drive the title and is at the heart of their refresh.

Sara says: “Margaret’s fervent wish was that her friends and colleagues at Slimming World keep on changing lives when she was gone and create a better world for the next generation. We’re excited for the role this new era of the magazine will play in us fulfilling that wish.”
