It’s (nearly) Chriiiiiiiistmassssss! It doesn’t matter if you’re five or 105, there’s something so exciting about starting that countdown to the big day.
Whether you want to stick to traditional chocolates or you’re looking for more unusual ideas, our members and Consultants have gone Advent calendar crazy! What type of calendar will you choose?
Classic chocolate
You’re never too old for a chocolate calendar and a small daily treat definitely won’t dull your slimming sparkle. Fill an empty calendar with your favourite bite-size chocs to guarantee that every day’s a winner!
MORE FOR MEMBERS: You’ll find Advent calendar chocolates (and other popular Christmas foods) on the online Food Search tool, making it really easy to know exactly how they fit into the Food Optimising plan. Or scan as you go at the supermarket with the handy Slimming World barcode scanner!
String up the bunting

Making something similar to Seaham Consultant Lucy’s mini advent mittens would be a fun project. Or you could peg up 25 mini gift bags – you’ll find lots of Christmassy peg sets online or in the shops (think colourful candy canes, Christmas trees or Santa hats).

Get creative
Putney Consultant Sara has definitely been thinking outside the box! Look closely and you’ll spy a Slimming World key ring, tea lights and even that recipe essential, a stock pot, in her calendar. There’s a party popper in there, too, to celebrate a cracking Christmas!

Mini Santa sacks
Prefer a home-made Christmas? High Wycombe Consultant Marion has gone for a rustic feel with this gorgeous display.

Cosy candles
If you prefer non-edible treats, there’s a calendar for everyone. A candle calendar will fill your house with festive fragrance – or maybe you’d like a stationery calendar to pep up your pencil case for the new year? Beauty calendars have also had a boom in recent years, and could come in handy during party season!
A pamper hamper
Preston Consultant Stephanie went one better with her Advent creation. She gathered a sleigh-ful of gifts, with no limitations on size. There are snow many things you could include in your hamper – who wouldn’t love to unwrap home-spa goodies and socks to stay snuggly and stress-free this Christmas?

Daily inspirations
Wrexham Consultant Karen does something a bit different for her Christmas countdown. She sets herself a challenge every day throughout December, to keep that slimming spirit strong, for example:
- Dig out your ‘before’ photo and feel proud of what you’ve achieved
- Find a brand-new Slimming World recipe to try
- Think about what you want to achieve over Christmas
Or you could add scrolls of inspiration to a suitably sparkly jar like Halling Consultant Sharon…

Mindful moments
We absolutely love this gorgeous collection of 24 ‘mindful moments for advent’ created by our crafty member Gemma (@by_gemmabosanko). The notes are tied to a beautiful smelling eucalyptus branch to create a calendar that doubles as a very classy rustic-style decoration.

Compliments of the season
You could adapt the daily messages idea to include some kind, heartfelt words from a friend or family member – or even from yourself. What could be nicer than unwrapping a compliment a day through December?
Time for tea
If you love a good cuppa, a tea calendar is a brew-illiant choice. Whether you like trying new herbal or fruity varieties, or you just fancy branching out from builders’, you’re guaran-tea-ed a warm glow.
And if you’re more of a coffee or hot chocolate person, never fear – you can find a good selection of calendars in the shops, or create your own using your favourite sachets or pods.
Christmas crackers
Slimming World Online member Sue_65 shared this cracking idea in our friendly online Community – a brilliant boxful of flavoured coffee sticks. That definitely beats a joke and paper hat!
