Slimming World’s 7-day menu – tested!
Monday: Creamy mushroom pappardelle
Kick-start your week of slimming with our simple mushroom sauce – rich, tangy and completely Free, it works perfectly with pasta. Slimming World member Charlotte (@lotteridge_sw) thought it was a definite teatime winner.
She says: “Dinner tonight was a new dish – creamy mushroom pappardelle 🥳 A quick ’n’ easy mild pasta dish, nothing too fancy but it hit the spot.”
Tuesday: Chicken tikka masala
That’s right, you can still enjoy curry night when you’re Food Optimising! Our lightened-up take on this crowd-pleasing curry features tender chunks of chicken breast marinated in a spicy onion and red pepper sauce. Here’s what our social media whizz, Naveena, thought of it:
“I really enjoyed my quick, easy and flavoursome chicken tikka! The recipe even made enough that I could enjoy leftovers the day after (and the day after that!).”
Wednesday: Beefburger and chips
Stacked with tasty toppings, nothing tempts the taste buds like a juicy burger… and all your favourite patties are on the menu at Slimming World. Ruth (@thebarrettskitchen) tried out our super-filling Slimming World burgers for her Friday fakeaway and wasn’t disappointed.
She says: “All of this for 1½ Syns! Homemade smoky burger with cheddar, bacon, red onions and chilli relish (½ Syns) in a wholemeal roll. Served with Slimming World chips and salad!”
Thursday: Pulled pork
Our slow-cooked pork coated in a smoky barbecue sauce will fall apart beautifully on your fork. Sophie (@sophiehegarty_swjourney) has made things even more mouth-watering by serving it up in a wholemeal bun with a side of Slimming World chips.
She says: “OMG!! Tonight’s tea was amazing! Free pulled pork with home-made barbecue sauce! Served in a wholemeal roll (my Healthy Extra ‘b’ choice) with a nice big salad of spinach, chard, beetroot and cucumber and home-made garlic and paprika potato wedges.”
Friday: Fish and chips
If nothing gives you that Friday feeling more than a trip to the chippy, you’ll want to dive into our slimming-friendly recipe. Ashleigh from our social media team has already put it at the top of her favourites list.
She says: “I loved how easy this was to make and it tasted so fresh 😍! If you don’t have any beer in the house – don’t worry, I think it would taste just as great without 😊. Plus, because it’s so low in Syns, it meant I was able to enjoy it with ketchup and mint sauce 💕.”
Saturday: Lentil shepherd’s pie
The star of our vegetarian 7-day menu, this pie swaps out the lamb for lentils and makes for a seriously satisfying dish that’s totally Free! Grace, our social media engagement officer, found this freezer-friendly recipe was perfect for batch cooking:
“I’m in love with lentil shepherd’s pie! I cooked up lots of extra portions, which I popped in the freezer to enjoy later in the week. I couldn’t resist adding a little bit of oat milk (½ Syn) to the mash to make it extra creamy!”
Sunday: Baked spiced salmon with green beans and herby mash
Healthy salmon is a fantastic choice if you fancy freshening up your Sunday lunch repertoire. Our spicy Middle Eastern spin proved to be a hit with Amy, our social media manager – especially the flavour-packed herby mash. She says:
“I’ve always avoided making mashed potato, as I thought it would take loads of time and just end up lumpy, but it couldn’t have been easier and it was so fluffy. The salmon was gorgeously smoky – I actually saved some of the lovely sauce to use as a chicken marinade.”
