In July 2024 my daughter got engaged and the thought of looking at photographs of me on her special day for years to come filled me with dread. Over the years, I had slowly put on weight and I knew I had to do something about it. I'd seen a banner for a group in my village, so at the age of 57 I joined Slimming World for the first time. I was extremely nervous on my first day, but was soon welcomed into the group and started to learn a better way of eating. By the time the wedding arrived in 2025 I had lost 2st 7lbs and have since gone on to lose another 7lbs. I am now maintaining and want to help other people lose their weight in a sustainable way without any humiliation, but with total support.
