I joined Slimming World in January feeling unhappy with how I looked and how my clothes felt on me. I had very high blood pressure, and climbing the stairs would make me out of breath. I even struggled to shave my legs or paint my toenails – those small tasks that most people don’t think twice about became difficult for me.
Learning about Slimming World’s healthy eating plan, Food Optimising, made me realise I could get the weight loss I wanted while still eating the foods I love. I didn’t feel restricted like I had done with diets in the past, and the variety and freedom encouraged me to cook more – it’s something I really enjoy now. I love trying the recipes on the app, as well as creating my own healthy meals, which I share on social media and in my Slimming World group.
I find that going to group keeps me motivated and accountable. I enjoy listening to other members and helping them with any struggles they might have – and celebrating our achievements together!
Moving more in everyday life
As I lost weight and started to feel better in myself, I was ready to add more activity to my daily routine. My three dogs are loving their walks these days! I embraced Slimming World’s activity support programme, Body Magic, and I was really proud to achieve my Bronze and Silver awards. Next up for me is Gold.

It’s almost like I’m a different person this summer. I have so much more confidence, and I’m wearing clothes I’d never have dreamt of buying before. I know what style I like now, instead of always just putting on leggings and baggy jumpers. My health has improved so much, and I genuinely feel like a new woman.
My aim is to lose 7st in total – and after shedding 3st 8lbs in six months, I know it’s possible. I’m excited to see how far I can get this year!

Week 5
Another 3lbs off this week. I got my 1st award and Slimmer of the Week.
Week 9
4½lbs off and I got my 1½st award, Club 10 and Slimmer of the Week! I’m absolutely over the moon.
Week 11
3lbs off – I got my 2st award, Bronze Body Magic award and Slimmer of the Week!
